Job Summary:
With strict adherence to the company's policies and procedures above all else, ensuring that quality and accuracy remain paramount; to provide an efficient, fast, and overall good experience to our authors, ensuring communication to authors is timely, friendly, and helpful. Providing editorial support to authors and editors, such as assisting authors with queries and providing guidance to editors with their decision-making.
Main Deliverables:
- Ensures the highest levels of publication ethics and integrity are maintained on the journal.
- Strong author service mentality, providing timely, friendly, and professional communication with authors.
- Excellent editor support, providing help with decision-making and other queries.
- Responsibility for end-to-end submission, processing to production, and peer review process
- Prompt processing of manuscripts.
- Collaborates proactively with the Executive Editor, Publishing Manager, and other in- house colleagues.
- Keeps abreast of industry news and trends and uses that information to inform journal objectives and strategic decisions.
- Meeting journal KPIs including quality, time to acceptance, author satisfaction, and responding to queries within the agreed timeframe.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal, written, and reading communication skills in Japanese and English.
- Must be able to communicate with Japanese authors effectively via emails and phone calls.
- Strong time-management skills.
- Ability to readily adapt to changes in process and implementation.
- Detail-oriented, with an ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders.
Eligibility / Requirements:
- Japanese language proficiency with N1 or N2 certification (JLPT) is mandatory.
- Excellent ability to read, write, and speak Japanese for professional communication.
- Basic understanding of academic publishing or willingness to learn.
- Strong willingness to work in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.
- Interest in research, publication ethics, and editorial processes is a plus.
