Objective:

" Business Analyst" is a mid-level professionalworking at the interface between the business functions and the BusinessApplication Group, leading and guiding a team of business analysts during projects.You are responsible for understanding business requests and capturing businessrequirements, in order to contextualize them into functional and technicalcapabilities within the business platforms and their associated applicationsthat are provided by the Business Applications Group.

 

Productivityand Quality

• Ensure thatbusiness requests are concrete and documented thoroughly

• Ensureseamless handover to engineering for the design and implementation phases ofsoftware development through clear, comprehensive documentation andwell-established requirements traceability

• Lead thegathering and documentation of high-quality functional and non-functionalrequirements for applications solutions, ensuring sound alignment betweenbusiness expectations and software/solution delivery

• Sensibly drive discussionsbetween the business and technology to ensure alignment on expectations of thebusiness functionalities being delivered through the business applications

 

Collaboration

• Own thescoping and prioritization of business requirements and contribute positivelyto the scoping discussions between platform and business stakeholders

• Leadknowledge sharing sessions with junior peers, application engineering andoperations enablement teams

• Coordinatethe buddy allocations for new joiners during their onboarding and fosterproactive collaboration among peers e.g., active peer reviews

• Effectivelycommunicate, proactively manage the relationship with business and platform stakeholders,while developing the ability to influence

• Actively participate in thedevelopment and review of software standards, software solution documentationand implementation within the Business Application Group’s platform(s) of yourexpertise

 

Leadership

• Stay on theleading edge of application development practices and remain current on newtechnologies and available vendor packages

• Serve as afunctional lead of a specific group of applications contributing to and guidingthe efforts of development teams

• Manage junior business analysts

• Mentor junior colleagues andfacilitate their skills/knowledge development through advice, coaching,knowledge transfer and training opportunities

 

Compliance

• Timelycomplete all compliance obligations and trainings, including relevantprofessional certification if applicable

• Thoroughly understand and guideteam members on the compliance, security and operational responsibilities inyour area of work

 

Hiring guidance:

The typical education and professional experience required for aBusiness Analyst is a master’s degree plus at least 3 years of workingexperience or working in a similar role. A successful candidate has provenexperience leading small cross-functional teams, coordinating with developersand engineers to design and implement solutions and automated businessprocesses. Candidates with a background of developing enterprise or businessapplications is a plus. Candidates should have a strong understanding of designthinking and systems thinking at scale
