Our History

A brief look at our journey so far

1980

Straive is established as one of the first companies in Asia to provide content outsourcing services to Fortune 500 companies.

2003

Straive acquires Pondicherry-based Kolam Information Services, a company providing offshore outsourcing services to the book and journal publishing industry. The acquisition aimed to expand our customer base and portfolio of services and pave our entry into the French language market

2006

Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT), the country's primary telecommunications company, acquires Straive to create the country's largest business outsourcing firm and solidify the telecom giant's presence in the BPO industry.

2011

Straive acquires Laserwords Private Limited, one of the pioneers and most successful publishing BPO companies in India's education sector, from India’s Murugappa Group. The acquisition aimed to expand our content solutions business and complement our presence in the scientific, technical, medical, and legal verticals with Laserwords' established foothold in the education sector.

2012

Laserwords acquires Tighe Publishing Services, a full-service educational development house in the K-12 educational marketplace, cementing Straive’s prime position in the educational publishing business in the United States.

2013

Asia Outsourcing Gamma Limited, a company controlled by CVC Capital Partners, acquires Straive, with PLDT as a 20% partner in the business, to capitalize on the significant market opportunities.

2017

Partners Group acquires Straive to expand the company, including introducing additional offerings to our service catalog, growing our business applications segment, as well as bolt-on acquisitions. The Partners Group is a private markets investment management firm with USD 91 billion in assets under management and more than 1,300 professionals across 20 offices worldwide.

2018

Straive acquires Chennai-headquartered Scope e-Knowledge Center to offer a broader range of innovative solutions to serve existing and new markets and further solidify our position as an industry leader.

2019

Straive acquires Scientific Publishing Services from research and education publisher Springer Nature Group, a major step in our strategic plan to emerge as the definitive leader in the content technology and knowledge services industries.

2020

Straive buys a majority stake in Ed-Tech service provider LearningMate from its shareholder Helix Investments, a partnership expected to help both companies leverage complementary strengths and bring greater value to our customers.
